TACLAB’s REAPER gloves are often considered the first tactical precision shooting gloves that combine aesthetics with the functionality that professionals love.

This is because we listened to our customers' needs rather than designing behind closed doors.

The Contradiction Between Grip, Breathability, and Flexibility Before we began developing these gloves, many consumers had conflicting but essential requirements. They wanted gloves with excellent grip while also being breathable and flexible.

We tested many anti-slip materials, but none of them were breathable. The anti-slip patterns often made the material too thick, hot, and lacking in flexibility. You couldn’t even feel the objects your fingertips touched.

So, we tried perforating microfiber and printing silicone anti-slip strips on it. The shape and distribution of the silicone strips had to avoid restricting the grip, so our silicone anti-slip strips were designed based on ergonomics.

This way, our material achieved grip, breathability, and flexibility all at once. Although this increased the cost, the satisfaction of our customers greatly boosted our confidence.

Meeting the Professional Needs of Professional Customers We found that most people who use firearms daily, such as soldiers and police officers, expressed that they actually didn’t need much hand protection. Many glove brands assumed they needed to design hand protection on the back of the gloves. However, this didn’t provide them with more safety. They didn’t rely on protective padding on the back of their hands to defend themselves in combat. Instead, mastering their firearms and being able to shoot quickly and accurately is what truly protects their lives. It’s like in the Wild West—whoever shoots first survives. Similarly, for low-speed motorcycle or electric scooter riders, basic protection and anti-slip features are often enough.

Attractive Appearance A good-looking design often boosts the user’s confidence and earns them compliments. Honestly, tactical gloves just need to provide extra grip, basic dirt resistance, and minimal heat protection. If they also look good, users will wear them every day. An unattractive design often results in the gloves being neglected.

Of course, everyone has their own preferences, but we try to incorporate the majority of people's opinions into the design of a single product, and most of the time, that’s enough.
